I've always enjoyed taking photos, mostly because a camera or a phone can capture the most beautiful or saddest moments in our lives. A photo helps freeze that particular moment in time so that we can always look back at it in the future. I think that was makes media studies so unique to other subjects, it is creative and engaging. It's slowly healing the inner child in me by being creative with the art of film and photography. The following 5 pictures have been taken in the past 3 years. I took these pictures not knowing composition rules.

Asymmetry/Symmetry

This landmark is located in Malta a small island on the Mediterranean Sea. This photo was taken 3 years ago, back then I didn't know about composition rules. In the photo you can see that both sides of the building has the same looking balconies, except for the left side of the building which has a pair of windows starting on each level, starting at the third floor.

Figure To Ground

This photo was taken this year in September during church camp. On the last day in Targu-Mures a city in Romania, the camp leaders organised a camp fire. I wanted to capture the warmth that we all felt around the fire in a photo.

The Golden Ratio

This photo was taken 2 year ago on a cruise ship. This was the last day spent on the cruise travelling to the last destination which was Marseille, France. The golden ratio is used to create balanced and aesthetically pleasing compositions. This is the website  iphotography.com  that helped me understand better how to take pictures using this rule.

The rule of thirds

In this photo you will be introduced by my cat Mocha who was kind enough to pose for the camera. Mocha is on the left side leaving an empty space on the right, following the rule of thirds.

Frame in a Frame

This photo was taken in my bathroom. After I finished my morning routine I looked out the window and saw the fluffiest white clouds after a week of rainy weather. I immediately grabbed my phone to take a picture. I was so determined to get the perfect picture that I laid down on my cold bathroom floor to capture the view at an ants POV. I have to admit its not the best photo but those clouds sure are perfect to me.
